Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3

St Pat's Dart Tournament Mar 16-18 2007

It's all part of the master plan... If you've talked to me you have probably heard that before. This year because of a conflict with my work schedule I had not planned to attend the St Pats. But of course Thursday afternoon my deadline was extended affording me the time to go play. The rub is I have no partners set, no reservations, and absolutely hate showing up to a tournament under those conditions.

Friday morning I call Sue Cherry who is heading to the tournament early to keep an ear out for a good partner for doubles. Sure enough the phone rings 3pm Friday afternoon and its Scott Wollaston needing a doubles partner. Great! A quick phone call to Jon Laban from town and I have a hotel room and a ride to Indy. Maybe I better practice a bit while I wait for him to pick me up. I neglected mentioning to Scott I had'nt played for about a month or so.

We arrive to the venue just in time to see the finals of the Blind Draw. Scott looked to be playing great as he finished in second and was definately on his game. After a quick chat it was off to bed and a good nights rest for the next day's events.

The mixed triples event was first and kicked off at 9:30am. Scott signed us up and I forgot to ask who our lady teamate was for the event. When I hear the call Colleen Eldridge... sounds familiar. I know Ive heard the name but can't place it. Scott and Colleen play great and despite my slow start we win the first round. At the end of the match it dawns on me why the name rings a bell. If you follow the yahoo dart groups you know Colleen and I had it out so to speak over how the WSOD qualifiers were run. After a good chuckle to myself over the irony of shooting with someone I have never met yet argued with I decide not to make mention and just play the event.
