Youngstown Charity Open Feb 24-26 2006 Here we go the 3rd weekend in a row and this time its a 4.5 hour trip over to Youngstown, Ohio. My cohorts for the weekend are Sue Cherry and Steve Jordan. Once again we are running a little late a dive into the dart hall just in time for the first event. This time its an Open Doubles 501 and my partner is Mr. Wade Wilcox. Now Wade and I have played before, like 10 years before. Since that time I have had 2 children and Wade has recently had a baby girl. Okay maybe we didn't actually have them, a point I'm sure our wives would quickly point out. As the early rounds come and go Wade and I fall into our old rhythm. We cruise through to the finals where we meet Luke Kolias and Gary Kidd, both very good players. But Wade and I won't be denied as we wrap up first place to kick off the weekend in style. After a long drive and vanquishing a field of 272 people in the first event I opt to skip the draw and get a good night sleep for Saturday. As my roomates are still pounding the board in the Draw im quietly dreaming about double twenties. Okay, well if you talk to Sue or Steve maybe I wasnt sleeping exactly quietly. But its my website so I'm gonna tell it my way. |
