World Series of Darts May 19-21 2006 cont

The Madness Begins
After a good steak it was time to check out the madness. This was an exciting event in itself. The countdown bellowed, "The madness will begin in 3minutes 28seconds, you are playing for a spot in the World Series of Darts and chance for ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!".

After meeting and greeting all my friends from around the country the game was on. A lot of great darts were thrown for such an unusual and difficult format. After Bill Davis had hit is 14dart game to qualify for the knockout round I showed him to the players practice room for some warm up darts. They must have came in handy as his match with Darin Young was as close and it was exciting. I just had a blast rooting everyone on and enjoying the competition. Brad, Bill, Jeff, and Tim all threw great darts to advance and it was one of the best times I have ever had watching darts live. The atmosphere was electric!

It was time to head back to the hotel for some sleep. Its gonna be a big day tomorrow for sure. As we pass the Cabaret Theater I go inside alone for a moment. Spending a few moments visualizing the walk on, the crowd, the atmosphere.

Standing alone on stage throwing air darts I suddenly feel like I'm 10 years old hitting that freethrow in my back yard for the NBA championship. I have to say it was a magical feeling...
