World Series of Darts Qualifier Mar 5th 2006 continued As the rules were being announced I thought back to the previous night. While watching the World Series of Poker on ESPN in the hotel room I tried to grasp the magnitude of darts in that arena. I thought about the players already qualified and those I believed had a good chance. In my minds eye, I visualized what the tournament will look like when broadcast. It was at that very moment, alone in a hotel room watching TV I decide that I would win the qualifier the next day. I just had to be a part of this tournament. With reflection time over I felt a wave of calm rush over my previously agitated nerves. The first round was announced and it was time to get it on! As I waited on my first board, without the possibility of throwing warm-up darts I worked myself into a darting frenzy. I was determined to come out of the gate strong. The time had come for my first match and I drew a local female darter from Chicago. A first leg 12 darter set the tone and I ran off 4 unanswered legs. It wasn't a close match or a severe test but I was relieved to have the first match out of the way never the less. My second round I drew a player I didnt know. I won the first game easily and in the second pegged a 131 finish for another 12 darter. The next two legs went much the same way and I was through to the 3rd round with a 4-0 scoreline. |
