Windy City Darters Challenge Mar 4th 2006 continued

Up next is the singles competition. Knockout brackets are drawn up for each division, pitting one Grand Rapids darter against one Windy City Darter in the first round. Then brackets are played out normally to conclusion. Points are awarded for total matches won.

Let me tell you the caliber of the Windy City Darters masters division is no joke. They have some very very good dart players. But as defending champion from the last challenge I was determined to repeat. Also, this would be a great test for the qualifier the next day.

Tough round after tough round passed and finally I found myself in yet another singles final. This time it was very important for me to prove I could win. Second place wasnt an option as I swept the final, an encouraging sign for the next day.

Despite Grand Rapids having a great showing in the singles competition winning the top two divisional crowns, Chicago's depth was too much and they won the challenge.

A great time was had by all and I look forward to next year when the crew from the Windy City invade Grand Rapids yet again.
