BloodShot Open Feb 10-11 2006 - contiuned Of course, Friday morning rolls around and I recieve a call from Chopper informing me he may not make the tournament at all now. So now I am completely without a partner for the weekend. I call Sue and try to cancel once again and this time she refuses to let me out of going. I guess I'll just have to win the singles afterall. A hectic road trip down to Columbus and we make it just under the wire for the first singles. Luckily, our roomate for the weekend, Steve Jordan had arrived ahead of us and checked into the hotel room etc. I run from the car directly into the dart hall to sign up and get a few minutes warm up before the first singles. I somehow make it through the first couple rounds and settle into the event. By the time the semi-finals roll around Im still without a doubles partner but playing pretty well. As I stroll through the hall on the way to to the bathroom I see Dan Carroll just arriving. I ask him who he is playing doubles with for the weekend and he responds, "You!!". I love it when a plan comes together. Okay, it wasn't really a plan but it all worked out anyway. I win my semi-final match and its on to the finals to play Gordon Dixon. First leg I play awful and he wins in a fairly long game. Second leg I come steaming back with a 14darter. Third leg, I lose the bullseye and he goes out in 15darts. Oh well, runner-up but a decent start to the weekend. And I have a very good doubles set up now as well.
